Lectures plurielles : discontinuité et ruptures sémantiques : Le cas de l’application iPad Candide de la BnF

Abstract : Digital tablet, multimedia content, interactive interface, website: Candide’s app published by the French national Library (BnF) combines mutations of the digital age; connected to media and modes of reading, access to work and teaching practices. However, this enhanced digital edition for iPad does not appear to break with past practice and forms, but hybrids and completes an evolution in progress for over 5,000 years. Beyond text digitization and media changes, the Candide’s app offers a "remediation" of Voltaire’s tale that actually stands for a new mediation with its three access modes in the work: the "Book”, the "World”, the "Garden". How do the functions work? Against developments that threat reading and reception of texts, Candide BNF’s app offers different reading modes: it allows "plural readings" in the meaning of readings at several levels, and hypothesizes a reconstruction meaning by guided ways, for which methods and tools are proposed.
